We've got a fun free day, a trip, a car show and an appearance from an Owatonna inventor coming in the next few weeks.

First off, this Sunday, July 15 it's the Historical Extravaganza from noon till 4PM at the Village of Yesteryear with free admission. The raising of the flag and national anthem will start things off at noon. You'll find your fill of food and drink while taking in the antique tractor show and touring the buildings. Secondly there will be some new things to check out. The Dunnell house has been altered in regards to the placement of the dining room and kitchen. Also the Vintage sale featuring perennials and antiques will take place and you can look over the new Standard sign hanging over Gus' Station.

Enough tickets have been sold for the trip to the History Theater for the presentation off the musical Glensheen on July 26. If interested you need to act immediately as a final head count is expected any day now.

The popular Gus' Station Car Show and Breakfast is returning Saturday, July 21. Showtime is 8:30-12PM with free admission. A fund raising breakfast will be served 8:30-10:30AM.

On Wednesday, August 1 a special guest will be giving a discussion at the History Center. Former State Representative for District 28a Doug Rueter will be talking about the inventing of games. Rueter is the inventor of the popular board game Sequence which went on the market in 1982. His talk will tie in with the current History Center exhibit on old toys we grew up with. His presentation begins at 7PM.
