Home Opening Weekend wrapped up for the Steele County Blades with a 4-1 loss to Rochester on Sunday night. The Blades won two-out-of-three for the weekend.

After the opening period, the Blades led 1-0 over high-scoring Rochester. The Ice Hawks out shot the Blades 7-3, but had numerous other chances which were broken up by members of the Blades diving all over the ice. In the final tabulation, Rochester (10-0) beat Steele County 4-1 and out shot the Blades 40-19. It was the first meeting of the season between the Highway 14 rivals. Steele County (7-3) had their three game winning streak snapped. Saturday night they scored an exciting 6-5 overtime win at Hudson. On Friday their home opener ended with a 7-4 victory over Maple Grove.

Steele County has home games this coming weekend. Friday October 24 vs the Dells Ducks at 7:00pm, Saturday October 25 vs the Minnesota Owls at 3:00, and Sunday October 26 vs the Dells Ducks at 1:00.
