Snow has been the talk of the area for the past few days, as the area was expecting somewhere between 3-7 inches of snow, depending on where you are in Southeast Minnesota after some freezing drizzle took over parts of the area.

Well, once we get the snow it'll be time for the Minnesota cold.

The National Weather Service is saying that temperatures in the area could get as low as -15 degrees, with wind chill values as low as 30-40 below zero.

Here is what the National Weather Service had to say about the upcoming cold streak:

"Dangerously cold wind chills from 20 to 35 below are expected at times Thursday through Friday night, with the lowest wind chills Thursday night into Friday morning."

After a mild December, this January has come full circle to a Minnesota winter. Be prepared and stay up to date with road conditions with 511MN. They have current road conditions as well as photos from Snow Plows throughout Southeast Minnesota.
