Ideas for Celebrating Valentine’s Day

There are going to be many specials for Valentine's Day coming up on Sunday. Really, there is quite a bit to do.

You could try a new place to eat. There are plenty to choose from.

• Depot Bar and Grill in Fairbault

Sports fans might be interested in some hockey. The Steele County Blades will be at the Four Seasons Centre in Owatonna and will be having a Hearts & Hockey event Saturday the 13th at 7PM. They also have a game on Sunday afternoon at 3PM.

In Waseca, the Sleigh and Cutter Festival has some a few activities going on. Friday includes a dinner and dance, Saturday a parade and curling.

There will also be a jazz concert a couple of days later on Tuesday the 16th. It will include New Orleans jazz clarinetist Evan Christopher, Rich MacDonald (drums), Karyn Quinn (bass), and Larry Price (piano). The concert will be at the Owatonna Arts Center, 435 Garden View Lane, at 7PM. Tickets in advance are $20 and available at Kottke's Jewelers and Tone Music. Tickets at the door are $25. Music Boosters of Owatonna receive the proceeds.

One more idea. Whether as a family, couple or single, maybe think about adopting a pet.
