Medford football is off to a 2-0 start on the season, winning their first two games by greatly different means. After thumping Winona Cotter 51-0 in the opener, the Tigers came from behind to edge Kenyon-Wanamingo 14-13 Friday, September 7. Medford hosts Bethlehem Academy out of Faribault Friday, September 14 in a KDHL AM 920 broadcast.

In their week two victory over the Knights, Medford trailed 7-6 until they scored in the fourth quarter and converted the two-point play for a 14-7 lead. KW scored with under a minute to go but missed the PAT for the tie. Kenyon-Wanamingo kicked the on-side try out of bounds and Medford could celebrate their first 2-0 start in a while.

Medford and BA traditionally hold the "Battle for the Paddle" when they square off. The Cardinals lost a 7-6 game to KW in week one but found some offense while beating JWP 41-21 in week two.

Medford coach Jerome Johannes said his team gained great confidence from the season-opening shutout of Cotter. He knows their rivalry match-up with Bethlehem Academy will be a tough one. BA shutout the Tigers last year 32-0 and won by three points in 2016.
