Medford and NRHEG led their conference standings from wire-to-wire this spring to capture their league standings in clay target shooting. Owatonna finished second after jumping up two classes to a larger conference due to the interest in the sport.

The Tigers had the top overall shooter in their conference as Cole Volkmann averaged 23.60 per round of 25 targets over the five-week competitive season. Other top Medford averages include Brandon Kern (22.50), Bryce Lisowski (21.80) and Tristen Kern (21.50).

The Panthers place four shooters in the top nine of their conference. Chancellor Olson led the way with 23.70, followed by Evan Dobberstien (23.30), Caden Beauvais (23.20) and Owen Prechel (23).

Owatonna finished second behind Hutchinson in the final league standings. The top shooters for the Huskies were Cody Bussert (22.80, 10th place in the conference), David Schoeneman (22.60), Scott Kingland (22.50) and Thomas Earl (22.40).

Blooming Prairie finished eighth in their conference and were led by Karson Vigeland at 22.20. Triton took fourth place with Colby Dobbs and Tim Moenning tying for the team lead at 22.90. Faribault finished fifth while competing in one of the largest conferences.

All teams are eligible to participate at Alexandria in a state tournament with the top teams invited to the Minnesota State High School League sanctioned event June 22 in Prior Lake. Nearly 12,000 students are participating this spring in trap shooting.
