Huskies coach John Scheil says the team he brings to state this week is very similar to last year's group and the optimism is high for a good tournament.

Scheil told KRFO Radio the team has really focused on their defense this season. They have worked hard to know where they need to be in the defensive zone and how to get the puck out as quickly as possible. The result is an unbeaten 12-0 record and top seed out of the south division. In fact, Scheil struggled to think of a game where the Huskies almost lost, coming up with a 9-5 victory at New Prague that was close through most of the game. OHS held their opponents to three goals or less four times.

The Huskies play defending state champ Dakota United Friday night at 8PM at Bloomington Jefferson High School in the quarterfinals. Scheil is pleased to be playing a team Owatonna has beaten, as the Huskies topped the Hawks 10-6 in early February. Win or lose the tournament will continue on Saturday.
