Junior Sydney Schultz had a huge night in a road win for the Huskies girls basketball team Tuesday. Classmate Margo Achterkirch did likewise for the girls hockey club.

Schultz had 32 points, 24 of those in the first half of a 66-61 win at Mankato West. Schultz added 17 rebounds and a trio of blocked shots. The Huskies went up by 11 early in the second half, but had to rally from a four-point deficit with about 10 minutes left. OHS closed on a 21-12 run. The Huskies (2-1) host Section 1 opponent Lakeville South on Thursday at 7:30PM.

Achterkirch factored in on half of Owatonna's goals in a 10-1 Big Nine win at Winona. Achterkirch had a hat trick and added a pair of assists. Eighth-grader Grace Wolfe scored her first varsity goal to open the scoring and added an assist. The Huskies were up 2-0 at first intermission then potted five goals in the second period. OHS (4-1) hosts Albert Lea on Thursday at 7PM at Four Seasons Centre.
