Owatonna High School senior Zach Mensink closed his prep football career in fantastic fashion by playing the Blue-Grey All-American Bowl at Raymond James Stadium in Florida Saturday. Mensink, a captain for the state champ Huskies, announced plans to play football for the University of Wisconsin-Lacrosse in mid-December.

Owatonna junior Jason Williamson announced that Minnesota Special Olympics will be the beneficiary of a $1,000 donation from Gatorade. The charitable donation comes with the honor of being named Minnesota's football player of the year.

Huskies' senior girls' hockey player Jamie Davison indicated via Twitter that she will play college hockey at the University of Wisconsin-Superior. OHS hosts Mankato East Tuesday night on youth night. The players will sign autographs at 5:30PM at the Four Seasons Centre in Owatonna.

Owatonna wrestling will host alumni night Thursday when they face Albert Lea in their home opener and the match that will essentially decide the Big Nine Conference championship. OHS beat the Tigers on criteria last season and went on to win the league crown. Thursday's match will be carried on KRFO AM1390.

The Dodge County girls' hockey team has won three in a row and has a pair of big games this week, hosting Chaska/Chanhassen Friday, January 12 at 7PM and No. 3A Breck Saturday at 5PM in Kasson.
