Saturday, Day 5, of the Steele County Free Fair started out very, very windy. There was mention of rain, so the high school football games were moved to the afternoon. Owatonna lost to Mankato West, 28-6.

The sun was out most of the day. In the afternoon a tornado watch was issued until 11PM. The rain waited until evening to pour, putting a damper on the fair. The Enduro race still went on. American Pie at the KRFO Stage was cut short for their set.

There was still lots to see at the Steele County Free Fair. The Flower Building is filled with beautiful plants, flowers from gardens and planters that are very creative.

Remember underneath the bleachers of the Grandstand are the Textile, Fruits and Vegetables, Photography, Hobbies and Culinary sections that local people have entered to be judged. The Textile Building has many sewing and craft projects, including many quilts, some with themes and some that make a picture. The Hobby Building has a variety of projects that are handmade and very imaginative.

The 4-H Exhibit Building is filled with projects. Some are poster boards, quilts, clothes,  photographs, building and craft projects. The poster boards are pretty interesting to read.

Did I mention it was windy? Check out a few pictures of the day.
