The local Beds for Kids began serving the Steele and Waseca county areas in 2010 so they're in their tenth year of service. The group provides new beds and bedding for kids ages 2-17. On average they provide around 200 to 250 beds each year.Remember how important your bed was to you as a kid? A warm safe place all your own.

Beds for Kids is offering their Cabin Fever Escape fundraiser this Saturday, February 23 at the Steele County History Center starting at 6pm. The evening will feature a tasting station offering goodies prepared by a couple of area chefs. There will also be a silent auction with a number of gift baskets to bid on. It'll be a cash bar with an improv comedy show by Spontaneous Productions at 8pm. Tickets are $30 and just about gone. As of Tuesday there were probably ten or fewer tickets available with one outlet already sold out. Those few tickets are still on sale at Hat Chic in downtown Owatonna.
