The Steele County Blades' season began a month ago. They finally get the chance to play home games Saturday, October 15, and Sunday, October 16, at Four Seasons in Owatonna.

The Blades have won three of the first four games going into Friday's game at Blaine before they celebrate their home opener at Four Seasons Centre in Owatonna on Saturday at 7:30PM and Sunday at 3PM versus the Dells Ducks.

The team recently named its captains. Chase Lewis is in his third season with the team and considers himself to be a leader by example. He knows that's important as the assistant captains Soren Colstrup and Colton Sprenger are a bit more soft-spoken.

All three players are veterans with the Blades and feel good about the start of the season and the potential that exists for this team. Lewis says part of being successful is taking care of yourself by eating right and getting enough sleep with the grind of a junior season. Colstrup says it's vital to make the players feel welcome and comfortable, especially if they are a long way from home.

Coach Nick Adamek is implementing a more offensive approach for the team that has led to a five-goal per game average thus far. He likes the new look to the Four Seasons Centre with the new bleachers in place.
