A community gathers to heal on a Friday night. Not just any Friday night. It was the 2nd anniversary of the shooting and death of Philando Castile. A Former St. Anthony police officer Jeronimo Yanez shot him during a traffic stop in Falcon Heights. Yanez was charged, but a jury cleared him.

Unity was the message in Falcon Heights, at the scene of the shooting, where a peace garden is in place. Nearly 200 people gathered in silence to hear thoughts from friends and family members.

His uncle stated in a KSTP report, that you can't just forget about what happened. And other family members want to improve accountability in policing. He said too that you think about what happened and why he is not here, and now you also think about all of the good things that have come out of it.
