Vikings' fans may leave US Bank Stadium with no voice and a ringing in their ears, but if the team wins, an ear-to-ear grin will accompany the reduced ability to communicate. Owatonna's Todd Walkingstick said the first-ever game at the new stadium against the Packers was about the loudest he had heard inside any stadium.

He expects decibel levels to be even louder when Minnesota hosts New Orleans Sunday, January 14 at 3:40PM in the divisional round of the NFL playoffs. Walkingstick is confident the Vikings' defense can contain Drew Brees. Minnesota's offense has been consistent throughout the season with a good mix of run and pass. Quarterback Case Keenum has produced good stats without making many mistakes.

Walkingstick, a longtime season ticket holder, joined me on KRFO radio to share his outlook on the game.

Walkingstick is taking a historical approach to the potential postseason storylines. The Vikings lost to the Saints in the 2009 NFC title game. If Minnesota wins, and Atlanta beats Philadelphia, the Vikes will host the Falcons for the NFC title. That would be a rematch of 1998 that went to Atlanta. Then there is the ultimate coup. Minnesota could become the first team to play a Super Bowl in its home stadium.

Walkingstick celebrates his birthday Saturday, January 13 and is hopeful for the first of three gifts from the Vikings on Sunday.
