Hey, guess what? Today is National Stress Awareness Day! While I would normally post something about how this is so important and resources to help, I thought I would bring a more fun side to the table. Obviously, this is a really important thing to know and understand, but because stress is involved in everyone’s life, there can be fun ways to combat it.

Stress can be found in many different things in life for many different people, so here are fun little things you can try to relieve stress and even find something new to try and love!

Play Puzzling Games

Whether you try sudoku, crossword, or attempt to actually put a puzzle together, games like this are the best. It is also good to play quiz-like games because not only are they fun, but they will sharpen your mind.

Organize a Room

You know what they say, a clean and open room makes for a clean and open mind! Plus nothing truly beats a nice, beautiful, organized, and clean space!

Try Painting, Coloring, or Doodling

I wanted to put all of these together because you can truly try and switch between any craft and combine them. Sometimes coloring in coloring books or doodling stresses me out, but other crafts don’t. See which ones work for you.

Go to Your Favorite Store to Shop

One of my favorite things to do when I am stressed is go to my favorite store and look around. I love going to Target and while sometimes I don’t buy anything I get to check out new things I might want to try or buy.

Nothing beats a good son that you can’t stop listening to! Put together all the songs that make you want to dance and just blast that music.

Eat Your Favorite Food or Drink

Food really is a healer, and what is the best food than our favorite food? Make sure you really taste it and remember why it makes you so happy. I know I always go for a yummy hot mocha to make me happy.

Have a Conversation with Someone Who Makes You Smile

Whether this is with someone you work with, an old friend, or a family member, and if it’s in-person or over the phone, this is truly one of the best ways to relieve stress. Human connection and conversations help us reset as people and make us feel connected.

Nothing makes me feel better than watching my favorite YouTube Video that makes me laugh. Or if you prefer your go-to TV sitcom, then binge a couple of episodes or seasons!

Play Your Favorite Sport

While I am not a sports or active person, some people are and this really helps some focus. I know my brother would play soccer all day every day if he could. What sport would you play all day?

Hopefully, these ideas can inspire you! Remember stress is completely normal but it is important to acknowledge it, why we may feel it and how we can move through it without hurting ourselves or others.
