2016 American Music Awards Nominees Announced, Including Big Country Names
The 2016 American Music Awards nominees have been announced, and Carrie Underwood is in the lead for country. The superstar is the only country act named in the pop-heavy category of Artist of the Year, alongside heavy hitters Adele, Beyonce, Justin Bieber, Drake, Selena Gomez, Ariana Grande, Rihanna, TwentyOnePilots and the Weeknd.
Additionally, Underwood is nominated as Favorite Female Artist — Country with Cam and Kelsea Ballerini, as well as Favorite Album — Country for Storyteller. In the latter category she is nominated alongside Luke Bryan for Kill the Lights and Chris Stapleton for Traveller. Bryan is also up for Favorite Male Artist — Country alongside his pals Blake Shelton and Thomas Rhett.
The 2016 American Music Awards will air live on Nov. 20 at 8PM ET on ABC. Fans can vote for each awards category now on the ABC website and via Twitter.
