A Different Type Of Play Opens Thursday

The Little Theater of Owatonna's holiday offering is "It's a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play. Opening night is Thursday, November 29 at 7:30PM with evening performances this Friday and Saturday nights along with a 2PM matinee on Sunday, December 2. Remember this holiday production is one weekend only.

What makes this unique is that it is being as a play would have been presented over the radio back in the 1940's. The actors appear on stage behind mics that are set up just as they were in a radio station back in the day. Some of the actors play more than one character so a change in voice pitch or delivery is required to differentiate between the different characters played by one actor.

The sound effects man is up on the stage as well delivering unique sounds at the appropriate times. Sounds like those of people walking on crisp snow, a car door slamming etc.
