With over 600 wins to his name, Blooming Prairie's Mark Noble has decided to hang up his racing helmet. Noble's career began in 1973, with a 1957 Chevy racecar wrapped up this past weekend in Lansing at Chateau Speedway. Over that course of time, 48 years, Noble has been inducted into some hall of fame's across the Midwest for his racing acumen and has made some lifelong friends.

Noble was inducted into the Kossuth County (Iowa) Racing Hall of Fame in 2018. As recently as June of this year he notched career victory number 615. Noble, was known around the pits as a friendly face, and would always lend a hand. In the later years of his racing career, his wife Becky would join him, after she often was unable to early on in his career as the couple had four children.

It was Becky's post to social media, that I was made aware he was hanging it up. It was at the Cannon Valley Raceway in Morristown that Nobel had his first race. Noble told Chad Meyer in 2018 that he recalled: "starting 24th in the B-main and winning it." Noble later finished fourth in the main event.

His induction article from the Kossuth County Racing Hall of Fame lists many of his accomplishments.

Noble has nine IMCA track championships, earning the first two in 1986 at Chateau Speedway in Lansing, MN and Fairmont Raceway. In 1987, he became just the second driver to post four track championships in one season, capturing them at Fairmont, I-35 Speedway in Mason City, Independence, Iowa, Speedway and at Raceway Park, Shakopee, MN. He is credited with track titles at Jackson, MN, Speedway – 1988, Fairmont – 1991, and at the Cresco, Iowa, Speedway in 1994.

While his helmet and race suit is going to be hung up, I wouldn't be surprised if you continued to see Mark and Becky still heading out to the track to take in some racing on those warm summer nights, much like you've come to expect seeing him out driving on those same types of nights.

Enjoy your retirement Mark.
