Brooks was born & raised in Minneapolis and graduated from Bemidji State University. She has worked in New York City, Reno, Las Vegas and most recently she spent 16 years in San Diego before moving back to her home state of Minnesota. Brooks won an ACM for Best Morning Show in 2011. She enjoys traveling and the time she spends on the air connecting with the community.
