Be Santa for a Rochester Senior this Holiday Season
For the 18th year, you can make a Rochester, MN senior's holiday season a little brighter with Be a Santa for a Senior. If you're feeling in the giving holiday spirit, this is an awesome program to consider participating in.
What is Be a Santa for a Senior?
Be a Santa for a Senior is actually a program that goes on around the country. Karen Hanson, one of the people who help to put on Be a Santa for a Senior for the Rochester area spoke with KTTC about the program. She said that names of seniors are submitted (the names could come from places like a local assisted living home or nursing home) and then those names are placed on a tree at a local business.
How Can I Be a Santa for a Senior?
The names of local seniors are currently up on a tree inside Sargents on 2nd. You can stop by between now and December 19th and select a senior's name from the tree. Rochester's version of Be a Santa for a Senior means you then select a poinsettia from Sargents. That poinsettia will then be delivered to the senior you selected closer to Christmas.
It's a really nice way to help you get in the gifting holiday spirit. You do something nice for a local senior but it's also really easy to participate.
