Beat The Heat And Rent Out Venturesome Water Toys At This Owatonna Beach!
Lake Kohlmier beach is open for the season!
And get this! On Thursdays and Fridays from 1 pm-7 pm and Saturdays and Sundays from 12 pm-7 pm, you can rent out water toys and trail equipment.
All rentals are first-come, first-serve, and $6 per hour.
You can rent a single kayak, double kayak, canoe, paddleboard, paddleboat, and hydro bike.
I've never been on a hydro bike before. I guess it'll have to go on the summer bucket list!
If you're interested in pursuing the trails around the lake, you can rent a tandem bike, electric-assist trike, and a Trail-A-Bike.
Lifejackets are provided and required for water rentals. If you have your own Coast Guard Approved Life Jacket, it is recommended that you bring your own simply due to COVID-19.
Lifejackets or helmets/safety vests are to be worn at all times.
To rent anything, you must sign a waiver. Riders under 13 must be accompanied by an adult. Riders ages 13 and 14 may use the equipment without an adult, but an adult must be on a separate rental item within 30 feet of the riders.
There are no lifeguards stationed at the beach, so adventure at your own risk!
The rental stand will be closed if the weather 'feels' colder than 60 degrees, sustained wind speeds are 20mph or higher, or if lightning is spotted.
The beach is located at 1550 Mosher Drive in Owatonna.
