Blooming Prairie, NRHEG, Medford Volleyball to Open Playoffs at Home
Section brackets are out for several local teams. Blooming Prairie opens their subsection at home Monday, October 26. NRHEG and Medford play home matches October 29.
Blooming Prairie (8-15) heads into the Section 1A, West Subsection playoffs coming off a three-set sweep of NRHEG on Thursday. The Awesome Blossoms are the No. 7 seed and entertain No. 10 Leroy-Ostrander on Monday at 7PM. The winner goes to No. 2 Hayfield on Thursday, October 29. Medford (15-11) is the No. 3 seed and plays their first match at home Thursday against the winner of Grand Meadow (16-15) and Glenville-Emmons (0-19). Defending state champion Faribault Bethlehem Academy is the top seed.
NRHEG (12-12) is the No. 2 seed in Section 2AA, South Subsection. The Panthers host No. 7 Waseca (4-11) Thursday. The winner goes to Mankato East High School on Monday, November 2, to play the winner of St. Peter (10-15) and Blue Earth Area (8-19). HVL champion Kenyon-Wanamingo is the top seed.
Section brackets for Triton and Owatonna will be released soon. The Cobras will open on the road Thursday. The Huskies will have a home match either Wednesday or Friday depending on whether they get a first-round bye.
