Blooming Prairie Superintendent Barry Olson is retiring this year, effective on June 30, 2019.  He has been with the Blooming Prairie School District since 1999, this time, for a couple of years as principal, then moved into the superintendent role.

With Olson's impending retirement, the school district needed to fill that role of superintendent, and they had interviews with the two finalists last Wednesday. The candidates were current Blooming Prairie Elementary principal, Chris Staloch and Kevin Ricke, the current superintendent at Fosston schools.

In breaking news today, Chris Staloch has been named as the successor to outgoing superintendent Barry Olson. He will start his new role on July 1, 2019. The details of the new contract are still being negotiated.

Congratulations to Mr. Staloch.
