The Cannon Falls Bombers swept the Raiders of Greenway today in the Consolation bracket of the Class 2A State Volleyball Tournament.  Scores were 25-23, 25-14, 25-13 in the 69 minute match.

6'0 sophomore Maddie Burr and 6'1 senior Halle Hustad had their way at the net as the Bombers had a team attack percentage of .284.  Burr tallied 21 kills while hitting .385.  Hustad smacked 12 kills with a .526 attack percentage.

All-time set assists leader, senior 5'8 Jaci Winchell doled out 45 set assists.  Libero senior Brianna Robinson had 19 digs and junior Kyra Schoenfelder collected 12 digs for Cannon Falls.

The Bombers finished the match with 47 digs compared to 40 for the Raiders.

The Cashwise Foods and Pharmacy of Owatonna Delivery of the Match was the performance by multiple Cannon Falls players.  Burr, Hustad, Winchell and Schoenfelder.  All the players could have received the honor because everyone played well and Coach Huseth made sure she got the seniors on the Xcel Energy Center Sport Court floor.

The Bombers will play Southwest Christian.  Cannon Falls was the #2 seed, Southwest Christian #1 when the State Tournament began.  Many volleyball fans were hoping for this tandem going toe to toe.

It's not happening in the title match but the winner will get to bring home some hardware.

I will be calling the action 9:00 a.m. on KDHL Radio, 920 AM, 97.9 FM, on the Free KDHL app.
