We've all heard of drive-in movie theaters. They've been made popular again due to the COVID-19 pandemic. But, have you ever been to a 'float-in' movie theater?

It's essentially like a drive-in theater you attend on the water with your boat, pontoon, or other watercraft. It sounds epic, doesn't it?! Just picture yourself out on your pontoon with a huge cooler of your favorite drink, a bowl of popcorn and a giant movie screen. It sounds awesome.

There's a float-in movie theater popping up on Silverwood Beach in Silver Lake, Minnesota on Thursday, July 30 at 9:10 p.m. They'll be showing a throwback of the 1985 movie 'The Goonies' on the big screen.

You'll be able to hear the movie playing through the giant speakers they have but make sure to also bring your radio with you and tune in to 89.7 FM for a clearer sound.

The best part is, the float-in theater is free to attend. It won't cost you a thing! Children and adults of all ages are welcome! For your safety you're asked to please wear life jackets on the water.

If you don't live on the lake, you can access the theater via the Silver Lake Boat Launch located in Columbia Heights, MN. If you're paddling, you can access the water via the Silverwood Beach or Columbia Heights Swimming Beach.

The movie ends at approximately 11:10 p.m.

You can check out more details on the Float-In Theater At Silverwood Park Facebook page.
