Come Hungry! New Foods at the 2023 Steele County Free Fair

When it comes to fair food, its about the quality AND the quantity, and at the Steele County Free Fair in Owatonna, you get both.

Last year my new discovery was 'Brat Dogs,' and they're exactly what they sound like. It's a corn dog, but instead of a hotdog in the middle, its a bratwurst. OMG! (I had more than one.)

The Steele County Free Fair runs August 15th through 20th, and here's a look at some of the new foods that will be waiting for you in 2023.

Godfather’s Pickle Pizza: Dill Pickle Pizza was all the rage at last year's State Fair. and this year Godfather's will be cookin' up pickle pies for you  at the north end of the fairgrounds near the Exotic Petting Zoo.

Craven’ Asian: They'll located in front of the grandstand featuring delicious egg rolls, boba tea, and cream cheese wontons.

The Little Blue Elephant: How about some Thai spring rolls, potstickers, and crab puffs. They'll be waiting for you in front of the Fine Arts building.

Just Take the Cake: These guys feature a coffee bar, beignets and extreme mild shakes. Take your sweet tooth to the North end of the fairgrounds.

Just the Meats: Vegetarians beware! Just the Meats will be located on the North end of the fairgrounds featuring bacon wrapped filet mignon and pork tenderloin.

Deanna Desserts: DD will located by the Flower Building, featuring fried key lime pie, fried banana pudding, apple dumpling and strawberry short cake.

Lake Co Eats: You can find these guys by the All-Star Stunt Dogs will feature cheese breads including spinach artichoke, bruschetta, buffalo chicken, along with dipping sauces like pickle ranch, pickle nachos, and refreshing drinks like non-alcoholic mojitos, orange creamsicle and more.

Stagecoach BBQ and Grill: You can be sure they'll have something to stain your white t-shirt, featuring corn ribs topped with chipotle sauce  at the North end of the fairgrounds near the Saloon.

Rockin' Asian: This is where you go to load up on Philly cheese-steak egg rolls. Located near the Swine Barn.

Hungry yet? We're luck enough to have offices located right across the street from the Steele County Fairgrounds, so we can run over and grab the good stuff anytime our hunger calls.
