Being prepared is the key to success, but life happens. Sometimes you forget to grab beer when you're out running errands and you don't realize it until your friends have shown up and the game has already kicked off. It's a mistake we've all made, but now thanks to DoorDash, you won't have to leave the party to make a booze run.

The delivery company will now bring alcohol right to your door. I learned how this delivery will work and stumbled across how much the average DoorDash driver makes each year. Read about both below.

In a press release on the company's website, Caitlin Macnamara, Director, Alcohol Strategy & Operations at DoorDash, said, "Over the past year, many cities where we operate evolved their legislation in order to permit the delivery of alcohol to residents' homes. Over that time, we worked tirelessly to build a trusted alcohol ordering and delivery experience for merchants, customers, and Dashers. We're committed to providing new earning opportunities for merchants and Dashers, a safe, high-quality experience for customers, and being a responsible leader in compliant alcohol delivery."

How it works:

Customers will be able to "toggle to the Alcohol tab of the DoorDash app to browse and safely order from a wide selection of drinks from restaurants, grocery stores, local retailers, and convenience stores."

The company says they are committed to being "responsible, compliant, and safe" and will implement a "rigorous ID verification" system.
