Equine Therapy for Disabled Southern Minnesotans

The Ride for the Brand got its start in 2015 at Mowry's Lazy Meadows outside Owatonna. It's an opportunity for those with disabilities to ride and enjoy horses. It's equine therapy. Studies have shown that animals can be quite a resource for those with disabilities.

Individuals are given the opportunity to associate with horses and even ride them. Wagons are available for non riders. Registration is now open at Mowry's Lazy Meadows web site.

Sessions run from from 6:30-7:30pm on June 6, 13, 20 and 27. There are also plans for some July sessions as well.Horses for the event come from local horse enthusiasts and if you'd like to volunteer your help or your horse, feel free to contact Mowry's at 507-455-0913.

To find the Lazy Meadows head south on 218 out of Owatonna and turn east on SE 28th Street and then north on SE 34th Avenue.
