Night to Unite in Faribault had mixed results with the Buckham Center party experiencing their biggest crowd.  Faribault Police Chief Andy Bohlen told KDHL the number of registered parties was exactly the same as last year, sixteen.  However Bohlen added two of the parties cancelled.

The Buckham Center event was hosted by Buckham Memorial Library, Buckham West, Faribault Parks and Recreation, Main Street Faribault and the Faribault Area Chamber of Commerce and Tourism.

One of the biggest picnics is hosted in the parking lots of the Buckham Center with the library, Buckham West (Senior Center), Faribault Parks and Rec, Faribault Area Chamber of Commerce and Tourism and Faribault Main Street teaming together to have a family oriented get together.Parks and Recreation Director Paul Penansky, Buckham West Executive Director Mona Kaiser agreed the crowd they hosted was the biggest to date.  The neighborhood event at Buckham Center was in it's sixth year. There was the usual mix of live music, free food, things for kids to do and city vehicles to see.

Dr. Michael Hildebrandt and one of his groups provided some music.  There was a dunk tank.  Some Faribault U.S. Census Committee members were educating people about the necessity to have an accurate count during next year's population census.

I'm not the only person that enjoyed Sambusa.  It reminds me of a egg roll only it's a Somalian food, contains beef, vegetables and is deep fried.

The Minnesota Department of Corrections had a table set up in the parking lot with lots of giveaways including sunglasses cleaners, pens and candy.
