The Faribault Falcon girls soccer team opened their season with a win in Cannon Falls.  The Falcons dominated play with a 5-1 victory.  Sophomore Mercedes Huerta tallied a hat trick in the first half with the Falcons up 4-1.  The Bombers scored their only goal to go up 1-0 before Faribault had their scoring flurry.

Senior goalie Olivia Williamson got plenty of scoring support.  There are two other seniors on this year's team, Grace Remillard is a defenseman and Mikayla Bohner a forward.

Faribault is at Waseca Tuesday before opening Big 9 play at Rochester John Marshall Thursday, August 29th.  Their first home match is September 3rd against Mankato East.

The Faribault girls tennis team traveled to Mankato today and dropped a pair of Big Nine Conference matches.  The Falcons lost to Mankato East 4-3, then fell to Winona 5-2.

Faribault has not had a home match yet and saw their record fall to 2-4 after starting the season last Saturday with a pair of wins.  The Falcons swept doubles against the Cougars, their two wins against the Winhawks were also in doubles competition.

Rachel Bostwick suffered her first losses of the season in singles while playing in the number 2 position.

Mankato East dominated singles play dropping just 7 games.  Results are:

Faribault boys soccer starts their season Saturday at Bahl Field when New Prague comes to town for a Noon start..

The Falcons girls swimming and diving team begins their 2019 season Tuesday when they host St. Peter.  They also entertain Winona next Thursday.

The Faribault boys and girls cross country teams opened their seasons with a 24 hour relay at Bruce Smith Field that started Thursday morning.

Faribault volleyball gets a stiff test out of the gate Tuesday when they travel to Farmington.  Thursday they host Class A state power Waterville-Elysian-Morristown.  The Falcons first conference match is at home against Rochester John Marshall September 5.

The Faribault football team opens their season Friday, August 30th at Bruce Smith Field against the Austin Packers.
