Faribault Mayor Kevin Voracek was our guest on the KDHL AM Minnesota program Friday, December 28th.  We discussed several topics on the show.  As usual it was a very informative program.  The Mayor said in his opinion 2018 was a good year for the city council.  He also looks forward to new council members Peter Van Sluis and Tom Spooner providing new ideas.

Voracek thanked Steve Underedahl and John Rowan for their service.  Underdahl was elected to a Rice County Commissioner seat.  His council seat will have to be filled after the first of the year and the Faribault Mayor would not speculate how the council would do that.  He pointed out several people have indicated an interest and said they would run for the post in the next election.

If they decide to go to the next highest vote recipient in the November election then Rowan would be offered the position.

He said the biggest challenge for the city in 2019 will be the Highway 60 construction.
