Faribault Falcon senior Lauren Isaacson placed fifth in the discus at the State Girls Track and Field meet today on the campus of Hamline University in St. Paul.  Isaacson earns All-State status with the finish.  Isaacson had a throw of 131 feet 8 inches.  The winner was Wayzata senior Carissa Travis with a distance of 133 feet 11 inches which was 17 feet 9 inches further than her seed distance.  Isaacson's seed throw was 135 feet 4 inches.  Northfield senior Annalee Olson-Solsa placed 4th and her junior teammate Emma Roethler was 6th so they are both All-State in the discus.  Mankato East senior Carissa Shank was 9th.

Faribault senior Megan Gehrke participates in the shot put tomorrow morning.  Gehrke placed seventh last year and goes into the competition with the second best throw in the field.   The only other Faribault participant at state is Bethlehem Academy senior Avery Hunt.  The Cardinal did not place in the triple jump but did very well.  His seed jump was 42 feet 8 inches and his best today at Hamline was 42 feet 11.5 inches.  The winner was junior Jake Marzinske of St. Croix Lutheran with a jump of 46 feet 10.5 inches.  New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva senior Ryan Hannegrefs placed 9th with a distance of 43 feet 10.5 inches.

Class AA Girls team scores after the opening day have Minneapolis Washburn with 20 points, Wayzata 18, Rosemount 16.5 and Farmington 16.  Northfield is 7th and Faribault in 16th place.

Class AA Boys team scores look like this after the preliminary round : Wayzata first, Rosemount third, Lakeville North and Apple Valley are tied for 16th.

Class A girls looks like this after four events have been scored.  Annandale in first place five points ahead of Winona Cotter.

In Class A boys Lacrescent is first.  Tri-City United 10th and Pine Island 14th.

We will have final results from all the classes after they are completed tomorrow.  Scores of area athletes have advanced to the finals.
