Starting Thursday traffic heading in both directions will be shifted to the northbound lanes between the Goodhue exit and the southern Cannon Falls exit. A MnDOT news release says crews will be reconstructing the southbound lanes in the area of the traffic shift.

Work is set to begin next Tuesday on the northbound lanes of Hwy. 52 next week between the northern outskirts of Zumbrota to an area just south of the newly-opened Hader interchange. Both Directions of traffic will move to the southbound lanes. Crews will also replace the southbound bridge over the Zumbro river during the lane closure.

MnDOT's project website lays out the plans for the final phase of the major project. The three-year project is set to wrap up in November.

Upcoming work in 2023 includes the following:

  • The Hwy 52 southbound lanes from Goodhue Co. Rd. 24 in Cannon Falls to (4,000 feet) north of Goodhue Co. Rd. 9 will be reconstructed.
  • Hwy 52 southbound lanes from 415th St. (just north of Goodhue Co. Rd. 50) to 1.3 miles north of Goodhue Co. Rd. 7 will be reconstructed.
  • The Hwy 52 southbound bridge over the Zumbro River will be replaced.
  • Frontage road and cul-de-sacs will be completed and opened to traffic.
  • A noise wall will be constructed along northbound Hwy 52 south of the Hwy 58 interchange in Zumbrota.
