Fire Threatened New Downtown Owatonna Hotel Late Tuesday Night

Around 7 pm on Tuesday (January 4th), a fire broke out in Downtown Owatonna right behind the new Marriott Hotel, which is currently under construction.

The fire, thankfully, did not harm the hotel, but a work trailer behind the hotel was not as lucky.

For 30 minutes or so, Owatonna firefighters battled the fire concentrated in the work trailer.

No cause has been determined, and the blaze remains under investigation.

Last night, the Owatonna police blocked several downtown streets as the fire department put out the fire.
