Another round of thunderstorms is expected across portions of the Upper Mississippi River Valley Friday afternoon through early Saturday morning. About 1-3 inches of rainfall is possible with perhaps some localized higher amounts. This expected heavy rainfall, coupled with saturated and some already flooded ground from heavy rainfall last night, could cause some flash flooding, issues, including road washouts, mud and rock slides, and rapid river rises and flooding.

The Flash Flood Watch will be in effect for portions of northeast Iowa, southeast Minnesota and Wisconsin, including the following areas: in southeast Minnesota, Dodge, Fillmore, Houston, Mower, Olmsted, Wabasha and Winona. The watch will be in effect from Friday afternoon through Saturday morning.

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.
