For $150,000 You Can Own Your Own Library in Zumbrota!

I saw this listing on Bucky Beeman's Instragram. Everyone in Rochester follows Bucky, right? They're asking $150,000 or $1200 per month for lease. This is an amazing space, with a LOT of library still in there (most recently it was used as an art space).

How old is it? According to zumbrota.info...

In 1906 the library trustees contacted Andrew Carnegie to request funds for a library building. Local legend has it that when they received no reply, the trustees wrote again, enclosing a stamped, self-addressed return envelope.

The Carnegie Library, the smallest Carnegie building in Minnesota, opened in 1908 at the corner of East Ave and 3rd Street. It served as Zumbrota’s Public Library for 87 years. The Carnegie building is still devoted to intellectual pursuits as “Crossings at Carnegie” a gallery and pottery studio which also offers classes and workshops.

I can't find any pictures of the way it looked in the old days, but this is a 1938 photo of the Albert Lea Carnegie Library interior/ I imagine the Zumbrota one wasn't much different. Scroll down to see a video of the library interior today...
