One former Minnesota Twins player, at the age of 38, is returning to the baseball diamond.

Former MVP Justin Morneau is coming out of retirement to help the Candian national team attempt to qualify for the Olympics. Morneau played in the big leagues for 14 years with the Twins, Pirates, Rockies and White Sox.

Active MLB players are not expected to be released to participate in the Tokyo Games, so it is up to other athletes and players to carry the load. Morneau will attempt to get his home country to the Olympics. The former first basemen had a career .281 average and hit 247 homers.

Morneau headlines the roster for next month's Premier12, which is a global tournament were teams from North and South America will qualify for the Olympics in Japan.
