Mark Henry with the Dakota County Fair called me last weekend and told me about the drive-through Christmas display at the Dakota City Heritage Village on the Dakota County Fairgrounds in Farmington.

All of the historic buildings in Dakota City have been decorated with Christmas lights. Some of the lights and decorations go back to the 1900's while others use Christmas decorations from today.

They ask that you stay in your car in an effort to keep everyone safe during this COVID-19 pandemic. No tickets are required and it's FREE. There is a box for a "free will" donation if you would like to make a contribution to Dakota City. Mark said there will be someone to greet you at the start of the route and of course they will stay at least 6 feet from your car.

The drive-through Christmas display will be open from 1:00 to 8:00 pm this Saturday and Sunday. You will be able to wave to Saint Nick in his sleigh at the depot and you can write a letter to Saint Nick too! Write it at home and bring it along with a stamped self-addressed envelope (don't seal it) and Saint Nick will send you a reply!
