Free Pet Adoptions in Minneapolis Tomorrow!
Who doesn’t love dogs and cats? Who doesn’t love when something is free? Well, Minneapolis is combining the two this Friday aka TOMORROW.
And because it is the holiday season, Minneapolis is waiving fees for adopting cats and dogs on Friday in an effort to increase home placement ahead of the holidays. This event will be occurring at Minneapolis Animal Care & Control and they are making ALL of their cats and dogs free. This event will take place at Animal Care & Control’s location at 212 17th Ave. N from noon to 5 p.m.
Bring Me The News explains the event and details including what is covered and what is not. It is explained that “those looking to adopt a cat or dog during the event must still pay the pet licensing fee, which is $30 for a year for a spayed or neutered dog or cat. Three-year licenses cost $85, while lifetime licenses cost $250.”
However, the following is noted:
Animal Care & Control will screen prospective adopters using national guidelines, according to the announcement. All cats and dogs at the event will be vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed or neutered.
Animal Care & Control will also host a food drive during the event. The food drive will collect both animal food to be used at the North Minneapolis Pet Resource Center and People and Pets Together and human food to be used at Minneapolis food shelves.
If you can’t adopt, Animal Care & Control shares that you can also consider fostering an animal, or providing short-term care until it can be adopted. It may sound like a lot but as someone who is currently fostering it really helps out a lot and is something special to do.
So head over to Minneapolis for this wonderful event and maybe get your family a gift for the holidays and give a pet a forever home!
