The seventh-seeded Owatonna baseball team scored a 6-2 come-from-behind victory at No. 2 Farmington Friday night in nine innings. The win puts the Huskies (9-12) into the winners' bracket semifinals on Tuesday though their opponent still needs to be determined. The Tigers (13-8) will host a team in an elimination game.

From top to bottom and across the field, every player that appeared in the game assisted in the victory in some way. Sam Henson started on the mound and gave up just two runs in five-and-two-thirds innings. Matt Segler went the final three-and-a third allowing just two hits for the pitching victory.

Isaac Gefre scored the first run for the Huskies on an error in the sixth inning and forced in the game-tying run in the seventh on a bases loaded walk. Gefre also caught several fly balls in left field. Matt Williams hit a single in the ninth and scored the go-ahead on a bases loaded wild pitch. He also made several outfield catches. Jake Miller delivered a two-RBI single in the four-run ninth inning to give OHS some breathing room. And, likewise, made several outfield plays, covering a lot of territory to make a few catches.

Carson DeKam, the designated hitter, broke up Brady Bean's no-hitter in the fifth inning and scored the tying run in the seventh on the Gefre walk. Second baseman Matt Seykora started a pair of double plays including a great feed to short stop Ethan Walter to start a twin-killing in the ninth. Walter made a strong throw for an out in the eighth and scored a run in the ninth. First baseman Zach Wiese made several great stretches to field his position.

Jon Klecker had a hit and a walk. Ethan Rohman put down a successful sacrifice and handled the work behind the plate well. Casey Cumberland got a pinch hit in the seventh that was a part of the game-tying rally. Ben Zappa entered the game as a pinch runner and advanced a base.

Owatonna will play the winner of No. 3 seed New Prague and No. 6 Lakeville South Tuesday on the road. The Trojans and Cougars will play Saturday at 3 pm at New Prague. The game was postponed Friday due to field conditions.

Top-seed Rochester Century got upset by No. 8 seed Rochester Mayo 1-0 Friday. Lakeville North won its 20th consecutive section game with their 10-2 victory over Rochester JM.
