Funnel Clouds Spotted In Southeastern Minnesota Wednesday
We started out Wednesday with temperatures in the 40s and gradually warmed up and some rain started moving across the Iowa border in to southern and southeastern parts of the state.
About 3:50 Wednesday afternoon, the National Weather Service in La Crosse, Wis., issued a special weather statement covering Dodge, Olmsted, Winona, Mower and Fillmore counties stating that funnel clouds had been spotted near Nodine, in Winona County, and also by the town of Hart in Winona County.
The weather service said that those types of funnels rarely touch the ground and usually do not do any damage and last just a few minutes.
Now no rain is in the area forecast until Monday, and with higher temperatures there could be development of severe weather next week if the conditions are right.
It's always a good thing to keep an eye on the sky when you are outdoors.
