Get Ready for Netflix’s Halloween Lineup ‘Netflix and Chills’
It’s Fall and you know what that means… It’s spooky season! And I am so ready for the sweater weather, the color of the trees, pumpkins everywhere you go, but most importantly, the spooky and scary movies! In celebration and to get people excited for their new releases Netflix has announced a Halloween lineup for their platform that has all the spooky or thriller-themed movies and tv shows! The lineup is hilariously (slightly sarcastic here) titled “Netflix and Chills” and it starts tomorrow, Friday, September 9th, so let’s dive in!
September 9th: Kicking off the lineup is the release of the movie “End of The Road” starring Queen Latifah and Ludacris. This movie is a crime thriller and that is all I know, but it looks intriguing
September 23rd: “Lou” the movie will be released which stars Alison Janney and Jurnee Smollett. In the TikTok I received information from, the plot includes that “In the wake of a hurricane these two band together to hunt for a kidnapped child.”
September 30th: A Family-friendly movie titled “Phantom Pups” will be released! Apparently, these puppies are ghosts and it is up to some kids to bring them to life.
October 5th: The movie “Mr. Harrigan’s Phone” will be released! This is an adaptation of a Stephen King story starring Jaden Martel and Donald Sutherland, which I am very excited about!
October 7th: “The Midnight Club” is a series from Mike Flanagan who made Haunting of Hill House and Doctor Sleep! This will be about five terminally ill patients at Bright Cliff Hospice who get together to tell scary stories!
Also on October 7th: a docu-series “Conversations with a killer: The Jeffrey Dahmer Tapes” will be released and will be more focused on Dahmer’s target.
October 14th: Another family-friendly movie titled “The Curse of Bridge Hallow” will be released. This movie is about a town where all the Halloween decorations come to life
October 18: Unsolved Mysteries Vol. 3 will be released. This is an ongoing series that a lot of people (including myself) love to binge!
October 19th: “The School for Good and Evil” is a series that will be released with a star-studded cast inkling Cate Blanchett, Ben Kingsley, Carrie Washington, and many more.
October 25th: “Guillermo Del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities” is another series that will be released with hand-picked directors with a series of stories.
October 26th: the movie “The Good Nurse” will be released, which is a true story of a serial killer nurse. This movie co-stars Eddie Redmayne, so get excited.
October 27th: the animated show “Daniel Spellbound” will be released. This is a family-friendly series
October 28th: the infamous movie everyone is excited about, titled “Wendell and Wild” will premiere. This is also a family-friendly movie directed by Henry Selick (who directed Nightmare Before Christmas) and produced by Jordan Peele (also starring Peele and his old co-star Keegan Michael-Key)!
While there were a couple of other movies and series listed, no dates were set yet, so keep your eye out and get ready for spooky season! All the information is credited to Netflix’s promo for the lineup and the TikTok provided.
