Grandstand Lineup is a ‘Home Run’ at Steele County Fair

Two national recording artists. A cover band favorite. An afternoon of crashing cars together. Horse and rider acrobatics. A free tractor pull. Six big events. One per day during the Steele County Free Fair in Owatonna August 16 - 21, 2022. Tickets are available at www.scff.org. The price will bump up on August 1.

Steele County Fair manager Scott Kozelka says he and the fair board are excited about bringing in a pair of national country music performers in addition to very popular holdovers. Maddie and Tae perform Wednesday, August 17, and Joe Nichols, who is expected to sing his 2021 hit "Home Run" takes the stage on Friday, August 19.

Tickets buyers cover a four or five-state region in anticipation of the shows. In a news release, the fair announces the lineup and sponsors for each show. Kozelka stresses how important local sponsors are for the success of all the attractions at the fair.

Tuesday, August 16 - Classic Antique Tractor Pull, 6 pm. Sponsored by Mike's Repair, Agroliquid, and LG Seeds, Ron Janning. Free to attend.

Wednesday, August 17 - Nashville duo Maddie and Tae, 8 pm. Sponsors include Hy-Vee of Owatonna, Fastenal, Let's Ride, Owatonna Motor Company, Northland Farm Systems, and Camping World. The opening act is Ashley Barron.

Thursday, August 18 - Hairball, 8 pm. Sponsors are Mohs Homes, Mohs Contracting, CarTime, Baymont by Wyndham, Tom Thumb Donuts, Bosch, Camping World, and Sleep City.

Hairball's back. They're rockin' everywhere. I just talked to their promoter. I think they're doing six or seven nights in a row in Sturgis (SD) before coming back to do some Minnesota fairs.

Friday, August 19 - county singer, and songwriter Joe Nichols, 8 pm. Sponsors include Olympic Fire Protection, Berkshire Hathaway Advantage Real Estate, Let's Ride Boot and Apparel, Owatonna Motor Company, Camping World, and Cole's Electric.

He's excited about coming to town. He'll be here early to enjoy some of Owatonna before the show.

Saturday, August 20 - professional Bulls-N-Barrels, 7:30 pm. Sponsored by Plaza Morena Campestre Grills, Lava Burger and Wings, Kibble Equipment, Wolff & Sons, and Owatonna People's Press.

Sunday, August 21 - demo derby, 2 pm. Sponsors are Misgen Auto Parts, Inc., Kibble Equipment, Four Seasons Electric, Northland Farm Systems, and NAPA Auto Parts of Owatonna.
