February 9th is National Pizza Day, to recognize that pizza should be celebrated, and possibly even be it's own food group. You can get almost anything on a pizza, and as I get older, I am enjoying more than just a sausage pizza. I don't eat pepperoni, it doesn't like me at all.

Some trivia about pizza:

  • Pepperoni is the most popular, preferred by 36% of the people.
  • Over 3 Billion pizzas are sold in the U.S. each year.
  • More pizzas are sold on Super Bowl Sunday, than any other day of the year.
  • Halloween is the second most popular day for eating pizzas.

I have seen debates on whether pineapple belongs on a pizza, and I fall firmly in the yes camp. I also enjoy sauerkraut on pizza, but, leave off the mushrooms and olives. I also enjoy having a homemade pizza, but, do enjoy ordering out as well. We have a lot of choices to get that pie, and even get it delivered with wings and bread-sticks.

With tonight being the broadcast of the opening ceremonies of the 2018 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang, North Korea, what better excuse do you have to order a pizza and celebrate National Pizza Day? Especially since it will be so cold outside.

What is your go-to pizza? Do you go with delivery, or frozen? Homemade? Pineapple or no?
