Townsquare Media Faribault-Owatonna was proud once again to be the presenting sponsor of the IRIS Turkey Trot.

IRIS founder Diana Kelly told those gathered at the Faribault Middle School the organization had surpassed it's fundraising goal before people hit the streets to run or walk.

The Turkey Trot has become a steady fundraiser for the organization.

Infants Remembered in Silence (IRIS) is a nonprofit organization providing bereavement and support services to people who have a child die during pregnancy through early childhood.

They have assisted people all over the world but focus on a six county area to provide their services in Rice, Steele, Waseca, Goodhue, Dodge, and LeSueur counties.

The 14th Annual IRIS Turkey Trot was held Thanksgiving morning with perfect running conditions.

The Turkey Trot includes a 5K Walk, 5K Run, 10K Run, Tot Trot, and Gobble Wobble.

Runs are chip timed and event start times staggered.

It was so cool seeing entire families participating including some pet dogs.

I really enjoyed doing some announcing inside and outside.  This year much more enjoyable outdoors compared to a year ago.

Last year it was awesome to see IRIS Board members burn their mortgage for the IRIS house in Faribault.

There are no charges for their services.  The Turkey Trot is their largest fundraiser.
