Parents throughout the land have a lot on their plates to handle getting ready for the holiday season. Decorating the house, buying the gifts, running the kiddos around to the different concerts, and even taking them to see Santa. Can't forget the baking, hosting parties, or driving to church for the Christmas Eve services.  I'm exhausted just writing about it. When you add in getting the "perfect" Christmas photo, well, all bets are off.

We've all done this, went shopping to find the perfect holidays clothes to make our kiddos look like little angels for the pictures. And, we've all had that meltdown because they don't want to wear the clothes we bought. Enter Saturday Night Live, and their spoof of the Christmas ads, because it is so true.

We want our families to look their best for the pictures, but, honestly, some of my favorite pictures are the candid shots of my family and kids, where you know we are enjoying the holiday and each other, without coordinating outfits. This is what makes the holidays great, at least for me. Not the matching outfits and staged photos.
