Is Minnesota’s First Snowstorm On The Way In November?
Now that our first accumulating snow is officially in the forecast, we have to start bracing for what comes next.
In case you missed it, we do have a slight chance of seeing light and accumulating snow in Duluth on Halloween, which is pretty spooky.
The National Weather Service of Duluth shared this very scary update on social media late last night (October 28th), so it's safe to say we should start bracing for winter because it's here in just a few days.
Now that we are set to get our first snowfall out of the way in our region, my mind is already thinking ahead: when are we going to get our first massive snowstorm? We usually get one - or ten - throughout the winter season.

No local meteorologists have called for a massive snowstorm just yet so I turned to the one place that makes long-term weather predictions by region, just out of curiosity. That would be the Old Farmer's Almanac.
You don't have to believe 'em but it is fun to look and see what they are saying about the month ahead. In this case, it doesn't look like we will be seeing a massive storm in November - at least according to them.

Instead, their predictions include a snowy but overall mild month as we transition into winter. In fact, they even included bouts of sunshine and only about two inches of precipitation.
That's not too bad for a November in the Northland. We will, of course, have to wait and see what happens. Stay tuned!
