Downtown Duluth Business Closes Its Doors
This is really sad news! Just a few months after opening, a business in downtown Duluth has closed its doors for good.
This business opened over the summer and seemed like the perfect fit for our neck of the woods. It seemingly fit the Duluth lifestyle we live here but unfortunately, it is no longer.

No, I am not talking about a Holiday Center favorite, although that closed as well. You may have noticed this if you're in the Holiday Center often but Snyders has closed as well. The store is now closed and empty.
Now, another downtown Duluth business has closed its doors. I walked down from the station to confirm in person and sadly, it seems the news is true.
Paddle North Closes In Duluth Months After Opening
In June, I learned that a Paddle North had opened along Superior Street! The store specializes in kayaks and paddle boards, along with all the accessories to go with it. This seemed like the perfect fit for Duluth. They also sell other outdoor gear.

The store was open Wednesday through Sunday. It was located next to North Shore Tattoo at 3 West Superior Street. They announced the grand opening of their store on Instagram in early June. They didn't announce the closure or give any reason behind it.
Good News For Paddle North Fans - There's Another Minnesota Location
The good news is that you can still go to the store - but you'll have to take a little road trip. There used to be a location in the Mall Of America but that is also permanently closed. The remaining location is in New Brighton.

The store is located at 401 West County Road E1. It appears to be the only remaining brick and mortar. As for the Duluth location, the store is empty and it says 'permanently closed' on Google and Yelp. The store is also no longer on their website.
There is no word on what is moving into the space. We will have to wait and see - but it goes without saying it is always a bummer when a business closes.
