Minnesota as a whole is becoming somewhat of a beer destination - and now, a list has been released naming the fifty best breweries in the entire country. That's some tough competition.

Unfortunately, a popular Minnesota brewery has closed its doors. The news was announced over the summer that Wild Mind Ales and Wild Grind Coffee would be shutting at some point this year.

That wasn't the only Minnesota brewery to close this year - but hopefully it is the last. Now, here's some good news to balance things out!

The popular website Only In Your State has named the fifty best breweries in the country - and one Minnesota brewery has been crowned not only one of the best in the country but now the best in the state.

The website crowdsourced names of the best breweries in each state, asking their loyal followers to send the best breweries their way. From there, they did some hard research and went on a tasting tour. This is their personal preference but acknowledge this is all in good fun.

Meet The Minnesota Brewery Named The Best In The State

While I think one of our Northland breweries deserve the title, a brewery in Pine City was named the best in the state. Three Twenty Brewing Company is the first brewery and taproom in the town since 1915, according to their website.

The brewery focuses on local, which is why it has become a favorite in the area. I think the food probably helps, which looks absolutely insane in the best way. They offer burgers and tots, bowls, salad and tiki cakes.

To find the best beer in each state and Washington D.C., Stacker analyzed January 2020 data from BeerAdvocate, a website that gathers user scores for beer in real-time. BeerAdvocate makes its determinations by compiling consumer ratings for all 50 states and Washington D.C. and applying a weighted rank to each. The weighted rank pulls the beer toward the list's average based on the number of ratings it has and aims to allow lesser-known beers to increase in rank. Only beers with at least 10 rankings to be considered; we took it a step further to only include beers with at least 100 user rankings in our gallery.
