USA Today Puts Minneapolis in the Spotlight
The publication nominated 20 cities from coast to coast for the crown of “Best Summer Destination,” and one Minnesota city is in the running, a choice that might surprise some people.
USA Today is conducting its annual 10Best Readers' Choice Awards, and Minneapolis made the list of elite summer vacation spots in the country. According to the nomination, the city “offers up a summer blend of outdoor adventures and cultural experiences.”
What Makes Minneapolis a Summer Destination?
The write-up highlights the city’s many bike trails and outdoor water activities, like paddle boarding and kayaking on its numerous lakes. It also recommends cultural attractions such as the Minneapolis Institute of Art and the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden.
Something that USA Today doesn't point out, is the vibrant suburbs of Minneapolis, staying in Minneapolis is a great starting point to other fun Twin Cities attractions and destinations.
How to Vote for Minneapolis
Minneapolis will be competing against other summer destination heavy hitters like Nashville, Lake Tahoe, and Nantucket. Voting is open now and runs through Monday, May 12. The results, including the full top 10 list and the number one destination, will be revealed on Wednesday, May 21.
